Dr. Christine Monroe grew up on a horse farm in Michigan. She started riding at 2yrs old, showing horses at 5 yrs old and they continue to be her biggest hobby. Spending time with them helps keep her happy.
She graduated with a BS from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI and earned her DVM degree in 1993 from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, East Lansing, MI
Moving to Ferndale, WA in 1998, Dr. Monroe began working at Maplewood Animal Hospital in 2000 and became a Co-Owner (with Dr. David Rabkin) in 2009.
She shares her small hobby farm with her fiancé, Todd, son, James and daughter, Jolie, along with an assortment of dogs, cats, horses, goats, ducks, geese, chickens and pigeons.
Dr. Monroe enjoys all aspects of preventative and diagnostic medicine, soft tissue surgery and she has a special interest in ferret medicine. She is also very happy and proud to provide services for many local rescue groups and shelters.
Aside from her horses, Dr. Monroe is an avid sports fan. She is the #1 fan of her children’s sports which include Ferndale High School Football, Basketball, Baseball and Volleyball along with the Northwest Silver Stars All Star competitive cheerleading. Plus, of course, Michigan State Football and the Seattle Seahawks!
